The exercise and sleep connection →

“…studies suggest that regular exercise helps you fall asleep faster, sleep longer and wake up less frequently during the night.”

I can vouch for this one. When I started working out REGULARLY. (Note: For me, this only worked with regular workout of at least three or more times a week.) I do fall asleep faster. I wake up earlier and my sleep ranges six to seven hours without disturbances. Finally!

My friend was right. It does leave you craving for more. Second attempt of baked kale chips is successful. It’s super crispy now and it taste like regular chips without the fats, bad cholesterol, and high calories.  Maybe I can make a healthier version of potato chips. Hmmm

I know this does not look appetizing but it was pretty good. It’s the first time I tried smoked salmon. The texture is almost the same as the canned salmon but better quality and no canned flavor. It is better to eat it with whole wheat bread or bagel and dill pickle. Some even suggested to add sour cream but we ran out. The smoked salmon is pretty pricey. $13 for 16 ounces and that’s already on sale. Regular price for 16 ounces is $20+. The best thing I like about it is it’s high in good cholesterol and low in calories. It is only 90 calories for 2 oz. I ate 2 pieces of Whole wheat bread (140 cal)+ 2 dill pickle (10 cal) + 5 oz. smoked salmon (225 cal) = 375 calories for a lunch meal. Oh yeah!

I tried to make baked Kale chips because one of my friend recommended it. My final product was terrible. Some parts were crispy and then 85 percent of it were not. I never knew kale was so bitter. Then, I started eating the crispy parts, and it was pretty good and not bitter. Ding! Ding! Ding! It came to me that I need to bake it longer and wait until all of them are crispy. I even tried to be creative and gave each portions different flavors. Some were cinnamon, BBQ, curry, seasoned salt, & garlic salt. Cinnamon & curry were yucky. The rest was okay. Next time, I’ll stick to garlic salt & seasoned salt. Til next time. 

2nd Attempt: Turkey whole wheat pretzel dog. Oh yeah! Only 150 calories each. Yum yum. I used whole wheat dough and sprayed with 0 calorie vegetable oil. The pretzel is softer this time. The first attempt was overcooked because I baked it at 475 degrees and for 15 minutes. It made the dough crispy and hard. This time, I baked it at 450 degrees for 12 minutes and voila!

Taken while in class. This is awesome. Tasted so good. Kind Plus+Antioxidant: Pomegranate Blueberry Pistachio flavor. Yum! The only drawback is it’s high in fat and calories. 170 Kcal per bar and 8 grams of fat. It’s so good & it’s worth it. I’ll just work out more :P
